IPA BOARD POSITIONS & LEADERSHIP APPLICATION - 2024


Please read through each position, its roles and responsibilities as well as the IPA Leaders Code of Conduct. If you’re interested in applying for a board position and meet the requirements, please fill out the application form below or submit the hard copy to the Administrative Director no later than November 26th, 2023 @ 5:00 PM. A member can only apply to one position.

Each Governing Board member shall be required to fulfill one of the following responsibilities and services. Each Governing Board member shall not serve consecutively for a period of more than three (3) years. However, they can be elected to the same position after a one (1) year absence from the position. 


BY-LAW PROVISIONS REGARDING BOARD POSITIONS

Section IV: Governing Board Officer - General Qualifications and Terms

  • Candidates for office shall agree to abide by the terms of the Constitution and Bylaws.

  • Candidates for office shall possess loyalty to the church and capability to successfully perform the responsibilities vested with each position, and be available to the various meetings and activities of the church.

  • Candidates for office (except for officials appointed by a contract) shall be active members of the church for at least twelve (12) months.

  • Candidates must sign and abide by IPA Leaders Code of Conduct.

  • Candidates for office shall possess good testimony according to 1 Timothy 3:1-8.

  • Candidates for any position shall not serve consecutively for a period of more than three (3) years in the same position. However, such candidates can apply for other positions if they choose to or to the same position after a one (1) year absence from the position. (Thus, if you are currently in a board position and holding it for the last three years consecutively, you are ineligible to apply for the same position).

  • All officers are selected (except for officials appointed by a contract) in the Annual General Body Meeting for a one-year term unless specified otherwise and agreed upon by the General Body.

  • A simple majority (above 50%) is required for election to offices; however, a two- third (2/3) majority is needed to remove officials from their positions.

BOARD POSITIONS

Administrative Director
The Administrative Director is the administrative head of the church and shall perform all administrative and secretarial duties including, but not limited to, signing of official documents, giving meeting notices and maintaining meeting minutes. The Administrative Director is the custodian and administrator of the corporate records, up-to-date membership list, contracts and corporate seal of the church. The Administrative Director must possess strong   communication and leadership skills. The Administrative Director has to prepare and present the agenda of the board meetings and all other business meetings, lead and represent the church in all official and administrative capacity, give public announcements, send out information/ communication to members, and present the reports approved by the Governing Board in the Annual General Body, Semi-Annual General Body meetings, and in any other special meetings. The Administrative Director is an ex-officio member of all sub-committees. Administrative Director shall work in unity with the Executive Team, which consists of the Senior Pastor, the Administrative Director, and the Finance Director, in the day-to-day business of the church. In the absence of the Pastor/President, the Administrative Director shall direct all the activities of the church. He shall perform any other duties assigned to him by the Governing Board.

Financial Director
The Finance Director is responsible for all financial matters of the church. The Finance Director shall perform his responsibilities faithfully and diligently. The Finance Director should possess necessary accounting education and/or experience. The functions of the Finance Director include developing and managing a budget, collecting tithe, offerings and other income, depositing money, issuing receipts, disbursements, purchasing of goods, keeping stock of supplies and goods, placing order of goods and services when needed, keeping and balancing the checkbook and all other financial documents and statements. The Finance Director shall present an annual budget at the first Governing Board/Committee meeting and give financial status updates and reports in all board meetings. The Finance Director shall prepare and present the audited year-end and any other ad hoc financial statements and answer or advise any matters pertaining to the financial state of the church.  The Finance Director is an ex-officio member of all sub-committees. The Finance Director shall work in unity with the Executive Team, which consists of the Senior Pastor, the Administrative Director, and the Finance Director, in the day-to-day business of the church.   

Sunday School Director 
The Sunday School Director shall direct all Sunday School activities. The Sunday School Director shall be involved with teaching Sunday School. The Sunday School Director shall direct the activities of the teachers, students, be in charge of preparing the syllabus, conducting tests, anniversary meeting, other special meetings, etc.

Youth Director 
The Youth Director shall direct all youth activities. The Youth Director shall be responsible for conducting regular monthly youth meetings, other youth special meetings, programs, events, etc. The Youth Director shall work with the Youth Pastor in all youth related activities.

Facilities Director
Responsible for coordinating property maintenance, managing contractors, managing church cleaning and lawn care services, utility related functions, contacts pest control, inspecting and evaluating property damages and repairs if any, providing estimates to the Governing Board for approval. Facilities Director will also help coordinate resources for internal church events and external events like voting setup, church/FLC rentals.

Worship Director 
Responsible for coordinating English & Malayalam worship team, services, lead and support the media team and maintain all technical and musical instruments, equipment, etc. 

Media & Technology Director
Responsible for coordinating and supporting the audio/video teams and maintaining all technical and musical instruments and equipment etc. This position will also be responsible for managing the website team and content creation.  Provide support to graphics creation and social media team.  This position will give overall leadership to any technical infrastructure aspect of the church.

Missions & Charity Director 
Responsible for coordinating all IPA supported mission activities by communicating with the responsible parties and sending mission updates to church members, finding new and effective mission field opportunities for member involvement, coordinating mission trips, charity activities, mission payments, etc. 

Ministries & Outreach Director
The Ministries Director shall direct all ministry and outreach activities and coordinate among all the ministry area leaders of the church including but not limited to the Small Groups Coordinator, IPA Kids Coordinator, and ladies & Food Coordinator. The Ministries Director shall support, and direct all aspects of the ministries of the church in a successful manner.
